From Creator to Collaborator: The Playbook for Landing Brand Deals

Great content doesn't land the deal on its own

You've put in the range time. Your footage is clean, your audience trusts you, and you know the gear. But the brand deals aren't showing up, or the ones that do feel like guesswork.

That gap is normal. Creating content and running a creator business are two different skill sets. Nobody hands you a manual for writing a pitch, figuring out what to charge, or reading an agreement before you sign it.

So we wrote one. From Creator to Collaborator, Volume 02 is our playbook for landing brand deals. It's built for creators in the firearms, outdoor, shooting sports and tactical space, and it's now included with Creator Pro on Arsenal Connect.

Five stages from first pitch to signed partnership

The playbook breaks the process into five stages across 33 pages, plus a companion workbook so you can do the work as you read. Here's what each stage covers and why it matters.

  1. Prepare. Before you reach out to anyone, get your foundation in place: a clear mission, a bio that says what you do and who you serve, a business email, and a booking link. Brands decide fast. If it's hard to tell who you are or how to reach you, they move on.

  2. Research. Not every brand is the right fit, and pitching everyone wastes your time and theirs. This stage covers finding brands that match your content and audience, and tracking your prospects so you know who you've contacted and where each conversation stands.

  3. Connect. This is where first impressions happen. It walks through your media kit, writing first messages, running discovery calls, and following up without being pushy. Most deals come from a follow-up, not the first email.

  4. Propose. A vague "let's work together" rarely turns into a paid partnership. This stage covers putting a clear offer in writing (deliverables, timeline, price) and negotiating with confidence instead of taking the first number on the table.

  5. Partner. Getting a yes is the start, not the finish. You'll find an agreement checklist, guidance on delivering what you promised, and a 30-day plan for the start of a new partnership, when you set the tone for working together again.

The playbook is general business education, not legal advice. For contract questions specific to your situation, talk to a qualified attorney.

Learn it, then put it to work

Reading about pricing is useful. Pricing an actual deal is where most creators get stuck. That's why the playbook and Creator Pro go together.

The playbook teaches: how pricing and usage rights work, and why they change what a deal is worth.

Creator Pro puts it to work: the Rate Calculator, so you can price your deals inside your Arsenal Connect account.

When a brand asks for your rate, you won't be pulling a number out of thin air. You'll understand what goes into it and have a tool to help you get there.

Where to find it

The playbook normally sells for $24.99. With Creator Pro, it's included, right inside your Arsenal Connect account.

  1. Upgrade to Creator Pro. Resources marked Creator Pro Exclusive unlock.

  2. Open Resources. Find From Creator to Collaborator, Volume 02.

  3. View or download. Grab the companion workbook while you're there.

One honest note: no playbook or platform can guarantee a brand partnership. What this does is take the guesswork out of the business side, so when the right opportunity shows up, you're ready to show up professionally.

Go Pro. Get the playbook.

If you're ready to treat your content like a business, start with the plan. Create your Arsenal Connect creator account, upgrade to Creator Pro, and open From Creator to Collaborator in Resources.
